Pongola Lysimeters

Pongola- SASRI Research Site [27°24'S, 31°35'E, 308m]

This page provides data of the daily water balance measured for a sugarcane crop growing on three weighing lysimeters at Pongola. Lysimeter number 1 is a crop with scattered tops as a mulch, number 2 a crop with a trash blanket and number 3 a crop on bare soil. The water balance components are evapotranspiration (ET), rainfall, irrigation, and drainage out of the root zone. The crop is a second ratoon crop of N14, harvested on 19th May 2006.
